I Forge Iron

Historic Bethlehem Smithy

Recommended Posts

Good Morning,

Historic Bethlehem Partnership operates a reconstructed blacksmith, locksmith, and nailsmith shop that produced ironwork essential to everyday life in early America. Opening the doors of this reconstructed workshop brings into view the bellows, forge, anvil, and fire used by Historic Bethlehem's resident blacksmiths to tell the story of hard work on the colonial frontier.

We are currently seeking smiths interested in assisting us in presenting the trade of blacksmithing as it was practiced in 18th century Bethlehem. Smiths local to the Lehigh Valley region (Bethlehem, Allentown, Easton, Reading & Stroudsburg) are encouraged to contact us at: npoirier@historicbethlehem.org

We look forward to hearing from you.
