Joe K Posted February 20, 2007 Share Posted February 20, 2007 I recently picked up a Champion 400 hand cranked blower. When I separated the 2 sides on the fan section to clean it up, it was so gummed up with dirt and grease that I couldn't tell if there had been a gasket between the 2 sections. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a gasket or some type of seal between the sections? Also Can anyone advise me about what weight oil I should use and how full the gear box should be? Woody Posted February 20, 2007 Share Posted February 20, 2007 On my Canday Otto blower there was an O ring type gasket that was totally brittle and broke in a million pieces when i took it apart. Ten Hammers Posted February 21, 2007 Share Posted February 21, 2007 Joe if you mean the 2 sections of the fan housing, I have used thick paper to make a gasket. I have also used window glazing. Depending on your location, cold weather states, I'd use 30 wt non detergent ( Phillips Super HD is what I use ).
