A hand cranked blower? Electric? A hair drier? I use coal mostly. The difference being I have to burn it to make the coke. I use a cheap vacuum cleaner. A shop vac with a light dimmer for control. Coke needs more air than you might think. To get it going well you need to move a lot of air. Pictures would help us help you. If thats possible. Drewed
Off the top of my head and with no pictures, more air, and or less air. Confused? I am. If the fire is not deep enough and the metal is too close to the tyure the incoming air can cool the metal, but I would think more incoming air is needed
