tassydave Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hello everyone,my name is David,I live in Tasmania(the island at the bottom of Australia). I spent 20 years as a steel fabricator/welder,but for the last 15 years I have been working for an engine component manufacturer making engine bearings.I learned some blacksmithing skills from an old Italian guy I worked with 30 years ago,he was brilliant, there was nothing he couldnt do, especially when it came to heat treatment. Now I would like to combine forging and woodworking as a hobby.I havent swung a hammer for ages so it will be a fun learning curve.Hopefully I will be able to come up to the standard of work I have seen on this forum. All the best David. Quote
Ratel10mm Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Hello Dave & welcome. You'd better start saving your pennies for Get Hammered. It's on at Moony's over the last weekend in October. It's 2-3 hours drive south of Sydney. Quote
