November 27, 201015 yr These are a few tools I made. I'm proud of my children Just wanted to show them off before I put them in a box and ship them off.
November 27, 201015 yr You have every reason to be proud.Very nice work Tim. They going to anybody we know?
November 27, 201015 yr Nice finish on the heads! That is a nice little stake anvil and those mushroom stakes are really nice too. Are they all one piece forged or are the heads welded on?
November 28, 201015 yr Author Thanks I have put a lot of effort into developing my grinding and polishing skills. I do not forge weld those together. I just bevel them deeply and mig weld them together. Have forge welded bicks together but those were made from wrought iron with a steel face. I don't think my end users would care either way. I have never gotten a return so I think I am doing a good job. I sell them to a jeweler supply on the west coast. I have been making silversmiths tools for about 10 years. the bicks are W1 steel hardened and tempered with a mild steel shank. This is my second job I guess after the ornamental work. As I tend to do them on nights and weekends.
