A small jewlers bickiron and two spoon stakes

Featured Replies

These are a few tools I made. I'm proud of my children Just wanted to show them off before I put them in a box and ship them off.

You have every reason to be proud.Very nice work Tim.
They going to anybody we know?

Nice finish on the heads! That is a nice little stake anvil and those mushroom stakes are really nice too. Are they all one piece forged or are the heads welded on?

Thanks I have put a lot of effort into developing my grinding and polishing skills. I do not forge weld those together. I just bevel them deeply and mig weld them together. Have forge welded bicks together but those were made from wrought iron with a steel face. I don't think my end users would care either way. I have never gotten a return so I think I am doing a good job. I sell them to a jeweler supply on the west coast. I have been making silversmiths tools for about 10 years. the bicks are W1 steel hardened and tempered with a mild steel shank. This is my second job I guess after the ornamental work. As I tend to do them on nights and weekends.
