markombi
Hello from New Zealand (the island of Australia is just off our west coast) My Name is Mark Smith and I am interested in setting up a Smithy as part of my home engineering interests. I recently purchased a london pattern anvil of 66 pounds, or, in the old marking on the side, 0 2 11. The anvil cost $175 NZD which is about $100 USD; a bargain, I thought. I have also acquired a brake drum from a 38 chev to make a small forge but I don't think we have those small blowers here in NZ. I also have a Blacksmith's vice and an old Barnes Lathe of American Manufacture. This has been converted to electric drive as they originally came out as treadle drive. My other passion is VW Kombis. I have restored a 1966 Splitty that was a panel van now converted to a camper. I have completed all the structural (read Rust) and mechanical (read Worn) work and am about to start the body prep for painting. :)
Ferrous Beuler
Welcome, Another smith downunder, looks like you guys are taking over! Lots of info in the blueprints... you will find a blower there to suit your needs. All kinds of good stuff in the blueprints actually, easy to get lost in there, so much stuff... Welcome and enjoy, Dan
