April 8, 201016 yr I have looked all over the net trying to find a recipe for refractory clay for blade smithing that will create the classic Hamon heat treated patterns that is found on most japanese swords and daggers. If you have any info pleasa let me know. Thanks again
April 9, 201016 yr What some people use is satanite.You just mix up a thin slurry and put on 2-3 thin layers.Found some at Ellis Knifeworks for 10$ which gets you 5lb.
