Anyone got any idea what the better lawnmower blades are made of? And what the temper temperature would be? I've got some blades, definately tool steel, that I need to straighten and then re-temper.

I'm not sure I would try to heat treat a lawnmower blade if I was going to put it back on the mower and use it. If you get it wrong you have a potential bomb rotating at somewhere near 3300 rpm.

Just my opinion though :-)

I asked essentially the same question on here a year or so ago. The consensus was, DONT mess with them. Your mileage may vary. :)
