Sandhiler
Just last week I bought a large cast iron forge which the owner thought was at least a 100 years old. I can't figure out posting pictures so I'll describe. It is about 6 feet long and 3 feet wide. There is a kind of resevoir across one end about 8 or 10 inches wide and 8 inches deep. The place where the air comes up through (I believe it is the tuyere) is about 8 or 10 inches round and rusted out. There is a lever you pump which runs a big (maybe 20 inch) cast flywheel which runs about a 12 or 14 inch blower. It is unreal heavy say 350 to 400 pounds. Any idea as to what I have? Also any idea where I can find a new tuyere? I believe I can make a new one but it would be nice to restore the old forge. Thanks, Sandhiler Also any idea where I can find a new
Sandhiler
I had not checked the blower on the large forge. It looks like the manufacturer was Canedy Otto Mfg Co from Chicago Heights, IL. Under this was "Western Chief." Thanks, Sandhiler
