blackhorse
Hello All, I made some of Damascus using 15n20 and 1084 in just a random pattern. from this I made a ring by doing stock removal. So now I am thinking the metal might tarnish and look crappy from the acids of the person wearing it. Any ideas on protecting the metal, or maybe better yet should I use a different combination of metals to start with. Cheers,
David Einhorn
Wear it and see what happens. Of course if you don't want it, I am sure someone would be willing to make the sacrifice and test-wear it for you. :D
Sask Mark
Isn't 15n20 a higher nickel alloy? If so, then what about hot bluing it? I think the 15n20 will not take the bluing so it will give a nice contrast, and the 1084 will be somewhat protected from oxidizing.

I need to do some reading to get up to speed on the process.
