Big_Eddy
New Member from Eastern Ontario. Have been welding for a while and am an active member of several welding boards, but this is my first post here. I have reviewed many of the blueprints and looked at your projects. I must say I am impressed and I expect I will learn a lot from this board. I have no forge, and have never beat on hot metal (unless you count tossing black hot metal after burning again my fingers - funny how it's still hot even after the red is gone) but have been doing a lot of welding, and have done some cold work. I weld and work metal for fun and relaxation. I get immense amounts of stress relief from beating scrap product from work into submission, teaching it new shapes. I like to create new and interesting projects from available materials. I tend to imitate something I have seen, but with my own personal touch. Attached are 2 recent projects, 1 based on one of the blueprints. ~20 gauge sheet metal (server cover) cold worked with a ball pein hammer, heated with a propane torch and brushed with brass. Clear coated. Look forward to continuing to see your work and learn from this board. Will have to continue cold working for the foreseeable future - only so much space and money available - but I've been bitten by the metalworking bug and we all know where that leads. Big Eddy. Thomas Dean
Howdy from East TEXAS!! and welcome to IFI! Very nice work on the flowers and leaves!! Thanks for sharing. Find a blacksmithing group near you and join, it's a good way to learn as they enjoy having new folks and are eager to hlep. Also a good source for locating tools you may 'need' Once again, welcome.
