  1. yea sure First fire be careful if you used cement it may explode. Mine did but i was expecting it too, so i stayed back when i didn't have to be near it. When it exploded it just kinda blew off like slate didn't deform the forge. after that i ran it for about a hour and a half with no trouble.

    Hey i had bought this charcoal in order to do a first heat. I was wondering if it is OK to use for when i do forge metal. It does say natural but i was wanting to you all thought.

  6. OK guys i just built my first forge. I know its simple but I'm new at this, and it was in my means to make. The adobe is still drying in this picture. I just went out and checked it a few minutes ago the adobe is hardening and settling so now there is more room between the adobe walls (witch is what i hoping for).
  7. yea but the guy at the store said every thing was galvanized. I guess he was wrong cause i cant think of why some one would galvanize steel pipe then paint it black.... Thanks for everyone's quick replies.

  9. the pipe is going to be use as the Tuyere for the forge. Do you think i still have the strip the galvanized coating?
  10. I was wondering, i bought pipe that was galvanized with what looks to be a coating of black paint can Hydrochloric acid remove the paint and galvanized coating from the pipe? Thanks

  12. A question from knife making unplugged About 40 minutes info the film he puts whats called a counter bend into the knife. What is the reason for the counter bend exactly? He never really explains.
