Hi my name is Jay I was reading post In This form while on a journey to learn how to make my own rigadizer. I noticed in your post about using a respirator. I also use one for many things and have different cartridges for different task as I mix chemicals i.e. aqua regia for gold refining and automotive painting. I will use a respirator if I even think something will harm my lungs or me. I have a lot of experience with them. You might smell through the respiratory if you have the wrong cartridge or if you are just using a particle filter. Also you mentioned a Beard that will let air through if you are not sealing that area with a high viscous coating some use petroleum jelly(Vaseline) or something similar best practice is to put your hands over the inlet areas to block air flow and breathe in if any air comes in then you are at risk! I'm not implying you are not educated or experienced with respirators but I did want you to know as the cartridges come to their end of use they can clog making it hard to breathe or become full and the ability to trap toxins and separate clean air from toxins reduce and can let them in to the mask always clean and store mask in a bag or some sort of container away from any job sites and airborne toxins when not in use to prevent any harmful effects to both you and the mask. I always test and do a visual inspection of the respiratory if I have not used it in a week or two I've had the check Valve or flaps not seal as good over time. I know this will help someone reading this if not you.
