  1. What’s wrong with the popcorn canister?
  2. Great to know. I will see! What would I ask for at the auto repair shop? I am under the impression that you can only use brake drums for coal forges.
  3. I would, but I don’t have anything like that. That’s the only reason I’m using the popcorn tin.
  4. Thank you for all the help. I have one more question. Would I need to burn off the coating/paint on the outside?
  5. How would I use rigidizer on the wool before I put the cement? Would I spray it on or what?
  6. Edit: the can is ten inches in diameter and about a foot in height.
  7. I might make a forge out of an old popcorn holder(see picture) and I am wondering if I would lose too much heat if I took out the bottom of the can so that I could stick longer pieces of metal in it. I will put ceramic wool and maybe refractory cement.
  8. Ok. I might actually try to make a coffee/paint can forge with propane.
  9. I have been thinking about making a forge, but I wondered if I could use a pvc pipe to route air from a blower to the part where the fire is.
