Hi there,
I have a goldsmithing background and after training worked in the trade for 5 years but got fed up with the limited scope of the work as it was nostly connected to customer requirements. I taught jewllery techniques for a period of four years and then decided to get into manufacturing interior products using steels, glass, wood granite etc. This I did for a 7 year period when a motor bike accident ended that activity, so back to teaching and I am now using CAD and fabrication technologies but thinking of getting back to jewellery and forging silver, thus my interest in a small treadle hammer and forging.
Very familiar with smithing shops as I have a friend in RSA who is a totally dedicated blacksmith.
Nice to be part of the black circle.
Regards
John
