  1. Hello Everyone! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dena and I live in Tennessee. I have a great husband of ten years and a wonderful eight year old son. I am a board member of the Celtic Society of West Tennessee and a member of Clans Henderson and Campbell. I research Ancient and Medieval Celtic history, designing period clothing, love going to Scottish and Celtic festivals when possible, enjoy leatherworking, crocheting, and listening to Celtic music. You could say that I'm one of those who was born in the wrong century. I'm in the process of helping create a Celtic Festival for Jackson, TN. at the "Casey Jones Amphitheater" on Saturday November 4, 2006 from 10 am to 6 pm. It has it's challenges, but I'm up for it. It surprises me that we have as many sponsors, vendors, clans, and entertainers signing up each week to be so late in this process. It seems that folks really want this to take place. The Casey Jones website; caseyjones.com We hope to help the community learn the importance of their heritage and teach the young and old alike of how things used to be before these arts have disappeared. The only thing we're lacking is a Metal Smith. I've spoken with 5 so far, 3 are booked already and 2 are in bad health. If any of you happen to be interested, we would love to hear from you. Your participation would be greatly appreciated. We consider your effort an educational demonstration and there's NO charge or fee for your space on the field. The director of this project is Gary Wood of the Celtic Moor store in Jackson. His website; celticmoor.com See the CelticFest website for those already participating & more information; CelticFest.tn.org I hope to be a helpful member of your society as well. I have many contacts throughout west/middle/east Tennessee and parts of Kentucky. It would be my pleasure to put you in contact with folks from the areas within this realm to help in some way with your agenda. It is my quest to help artisans and crafters of the old ways to keep the cultural traditions alive and to spark interest of this to the younger generations. The importance of these things may very well show to come in handy again some day. Many blessings to you, Dena
