  1. Not too bad, Stash! Personally, I see a "1 7 6", but then again, I'm biased: And if the scale is to be believed: Thanks!
  2. You had to ask: Now I can't recall their names; we would run into each other at various events like at Fall Creek Falls; I'd bring a chair and sit and watch them, talk when they took breaks etc. Their shop was a couple miles east of CH; I see now that it's a upholstery shop; so I assume she is out of the business entirely now.
  3. I got this anvil Jan. 2019. I'll let the story unfold in pictures; feel free to ask questions. As I received it: Both the good - and the bad - of the top face: Next up: Non-invasive/non-destructive cleaning and refurbishing. Thanks for looking! P.S. What is the preferred format for pics: As an attachment (direct from my PC) or as an image link (as posted above). Thanks, Al Non-invasive/non-destructive cleaning and refurbishing: Water, a big tub, washing soda, scrap iron and a manual (not automatic computer controlled trash!) battery charger: Always remember with electrolysis: Black on Black: Can you read it a little better: How about this: The only conclusion I can come to is that this is some form of Klingnon: WARNING: Graphic Image!!!!
  4. Getting back into blacksmithing; tried it with the Athens AL Forge about 20 years ago but then kids, life, kids, work and kids interrupted the fun. Retired now to my farm in SC TN, about 40 miles from the Rocket City. I used to know a married pair of blacksmiths from Chapel Hill TN, but he has since passed; I got some coal from his widow about a year or so ago and now I think she has has passed as well. Athens Forge meets on the 4th Saturday, so I plan to attend unless my daughter's birthday supersedes it. Thanks, Al
