I use wax toilet rings you can get at any hardware store. They work just as well and are much cheaper than beeswax. Also, I got a crock pot for $1 on a garage sale, run an extension cord outside, throw in the beeswax and let it melt. Then add turpentine and linseed oil. Let it stew for about an hour so everything gets good and melty and mixes well, dump into a paint can and lid it. Let it cool overnight and brush on with an old paintbrush instead of dipping. I make about the equivalent of 3/4 gallon for maybe $40.
