Hello, This is the first time I have posted anything on this forum. I was wondering if anyone had some tips for when calling or visiting a scrapyard on what to ask them. I image the first thing to ask them is if they sell any period but after that I am at a loss. I haven't been blacksmithing for very long and I can always just go to my local metal supplier in town but it would be nice to have some metal on hand that I don't have to worry so much about using it or testing an idea I have on a project if I was able to find some scrap. I have always had a bit of a problem with just calling up places like this and asking questions but if I had some pointers on what kinds of things to ask or even how to ask them it would help me a lot. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
