    150 lb Howe trip hammer, 1894 Hi JBoon, We've been using our 150 lb Howe for about 20 yrs and, although it's a bit rough, it is a work horse. Someone had replaced the rubber balls with springs which seems to work fine, although the old highly-respected blacksmith I bought it from said that balls would make it snappier. We used a 3 horse 3 phase motor and it really cruises. We've just moved it to a new location in our studio so it's not hooked up in these pics.
