  1. So i am looking to get into blacksmithing as a hobby. Looking to try my hand at coal forging. I have an old grill that I am going to convert. I have seen multiple videos on guys converting their grills, but I have a few questions. Some line their grills with firebrick, others use refractory cement, or a homemade clay mixture? Some dont line it at all? Any pros or cons on what you use and why? With providing air.. Some use a steel pipe with a side inlet and holes in it, where others use a elbow joint at the bottom? which do you recommend? With clinkers, does it choke up the elbow joint? Im not looking to make massive blades or projects, just looking to start and work my way up into a solid knowledge base.. Any answer would be appreciated.
