  1. Greetings All, Just found the site and joined right away! Wondering if anyone can help with a recently acquired Champion Lancaster No 40 hand crank blower. Nice condition with a very heavy trumpet shaped stand. Wasnt working properly and upon partial disassembly my fears were confirmed and the worm gear that drives the fan looks to be shot with many of the teeth worn off. The other two larger gears look perfect (wonder if that small worm gear was a softer metal?). However i cant get the other gears out to see it better. As i understand it this Lancaster 40 is a cheaper version of the Champion 400 and used pressed bushings rather than bearings. BTW any advice on getting the bushings out without cracking the housing would be most appreciated. From reading other posts it seems like best option would be finding a similar model to trade parts with. Does anyone have any parts or donor blowers they would be willing to part with? I do have a great machinist very near where i live but im almost afraid to ask how much it would be to have a replacement made. Thought i would try here first. Thanks!
