I thought so at first, but I think it is just where the face got welded on to the body. But who knows. The rebound is 85 to 90 percent across the whole face, measured at 10inches with a 1 inch ball bearing.

The rebound and ring is fantastic on it!
As far as I can tell, I don't think it had any welding done. If it did I can't tell through rebound or anything.

From what I have read, there is a farrier plain horn and a clip horn. Looks just like the plane horn.

Hey guys,
Just the I would show off my new to me Hay Budden. From what I can tell it was made in 1906, and weighs 190lb. I will be putting it on a scale tomorrow.
I am just starting out, and was going to use a railroad anvil, but I found this.
I do live in Denver so they are on the pricier side. Couldn't let this go by me.
Great rebound and ring.
