Hello everyone my name is Vince. I am 53 last time I calculated my birthday based on the year I was born. Anyway I was born and raided in Cincinnati Ohio, enlisted in the navy met my wife in Maine and now live in Florida because even in Ohio the winters were getting to cold for us. I have a lot of welding and fabrication experience until later on in life when I went back to school for engineering. I no longer work full time due to health issues, but enjoy doing things and have had an interest in blacksmithing for several years now. My real interest is carving wood rather its relief and carving in the round. I buy expensive carving knives and want to make my own. Which bring me to blacksmithing. I will be looking to make a forge, learn what types of steel hold a sharp edge, as well as heat treating the metal. So any information anyone can share with me will be greatly appreciated.
