  1. No haven't made it the brake drum! Here's where I'm at forging wise
  2. Show me now lol so I can do a video that might actually get a positive statement....
  3. Exactly! Nothing wrong with saying hey if you would turn that piece of track on end it is more efficient..... nothing wrong with saying grinding a piece of track is useless... as far as the stand being wobbly it isn't but wouldn't be hard to add a square of 2x4s around the bottom if it becomes a problem.... I honestly do not mind ideas to make things better or criticism, what I don't like is folks who come off with a pompous attitude! I have been thinking now I should turn it on end maybe carve out a space with my saw.... or I have a pile of old 4x4x12' post I think I could make a very nice stand with the RR TRACK on end.... either way it's Thanksgiving y'all have a good one
  4. I'll see what I can do kinda hard filming yourself I didn't realize it until I've started it.....
  5. Frosty, Took what everyone said about safety to heart and put it in perspective.... yes I say don't do this blah blah blah but should show how to in a professional & safe manner! I also have taken the time to check out your build and it has a few things that are very desirable! I do like the adjustability and see why welding my tip not only where I did is bad but also it all but eliminates the option to change its location and in turn change where and how the fuel air mix happens! I may be looking at this wrong and will gladly listen to what you have to say! HAPPY THANKSGIVING Y'ALL! Thanks again for the Response Frosty!
  6. I suppose you could call it a brand.... I'm sorry you can't admit that the stand does just what it's designed to do.... it holds the anvil.... as far as time put into the Anvil it was free and looked just as it is..... So this cheap and easy build is far superior IMO for a new guy.... doesn't take much research to bolt/strap a hunk of metal to the top of a piece of wood, it's like that car you referred to.... we don't put kids in brand new cars because they have a high chance of wrecking it before they really learn and what happens if they decide not to ever drive again after they first start.... so I'll bet with time folks who do this including myself will decide if the investment in a better anvil, forge etc... is what we are looking for after we test drive the hobby for a bit and quite frankly this beats a rock and it's better than sitting around pounding a keyboard..... or spending a small fortune cause some internet jockey said so... Happy Piddling & Happy Thanksgiving go find something to be thankful for!
  7. I think the frosty build is almost a must at this point just for comparisons sake!
  8. I'm starting to understand just how this forum is..... kinda humorous really.... again this isn't designed to be the best of the best.... this is a way to get started... if you'd like to purchase and ship a new anvil and stand to my home I'll gladly explain why it is far superior..... in the mean time I'm going to pound my anvil instead of this keyboard! Thanks for your input and support! No your post proves that you really do not understand how this place works, try to relax and see what is being said and perhaps you will someday
  9. Finished my anvil stand, used Telephone pole & rr track! Here's the little video I put together check it out thanks for watching! Got the Anvil Stand done! Cheap & EASY pretty happy with the way it turned out! https://youtu.be/zSFUI8whb_M
  10. Some of chose to believe it takes an expert and others will see the simplicity of it all.... the how to above will do exactly as intended.... somewhere there's always something better so I'll wait for your how to video.... now again until my post here well after the fact I had made a burner I did not know anything about the frost tee.... do I agree that it is a better design with more flexibility for tuning yup.... do I still know that what I built will Get r Hot enough to pound r Hard yup so either way it's a learning experience and if we can't learn then we have some serious troubles ahead
  11. Well said Mikey! Again the initial flame shown was literally first light no adjusting flow or pressure to lean it out or richen it up and yes an understanding of rich and lean needs to be there!
  12. Well I do appreciate all the feedback and look forward to further gaining knowledge! I will say this the burner I built does exactly what it was built to do!
  13. Ernest, Very well said! Your concerns about welding gloves makes since yes it was a small weld for a brief moment bit could imply that welding bare handed is okay when it most definitely isn't.... I appreciate your approach & respect your opinion thank you kindly for the feedback & also the kind word's of encouragement at the end with that I will get back to Piddling a little safer this time!
  14. Mike, I appreciate the kind word's and support! I'll have to check it out!
  15. I most definitely wouldn't take their advice lightly.... I also don't have a way to angle the jet. I can change the tips out and also adjust the air flow and LP flow & pressure....
  16. I'm starting to understand already...I by no means claimed this as my own or original and didn't try to steal anything or say it was better than someone else's... real warm welcome here lol no worries I enjoyed the build and it does what it was built to do if no one here can see that then that's on them.... Btw.... I've never claimed this as my own or that it's better.... I also don't find this complicating anything especially since I don't know what Frosty did but will definitely check it out and may use it instead! This is true results are all that matter and I'm guessing from what I'm hearing about your design it gets a better result....
  17. Frosty, I have never even looked at your design.... I do appreciate your concern for safety and inregards to efficiency you haven't stopped by to prove or disprove that but I invite you to build both and do a comparison! Thanks again for your feedback!
  18. Thanks for all the information! And yes a warning about PTFE Tape needs to be added! I thank you for the feedback and knowledge you shared and also that you took the time to write the amount you did!
  19. This is a first light photo no adjustment at all! Thanks for the feedback! Feel free to watch the video and you'll understand more! Thanks again for feedback! Pretty sure this is getting the job done! Thats hot enough! This is a great first build for someone just getting into the craft!
  20. 20171101_123723.mp4 So pretty much I blame forged in fire for this new obsession that I have.... Here's a few pictures and a link to my forge build! Pretty stoked how this single burner forged turned out! Mod Note: This video removed due to inappropriate language
  21. Here's a link to my forge burner build! Pretty easy for most who have common tools like a welder and a drill!
