Thanks everyone for the feed back I'll keep working at it! The anvil is a peace of railroad that I put a box around to hold it in place. As for the Handel it is not finished i just drilled the holes and cut the brass to size so it fit. it will come apart easily so I can try to heat treat it and can make adjustments. As for the blade it definitely got to hot a few times and the tang was a bit of a struggle for me. I only have a 3lb hammer for tools so that didn't help. But thanks again for all the great feed back and I can't wait to get back at it. Im picking up some leaf springs this week. I'll post some more photos when I get them done.

Not sure the type of steel. it's made from stuff I found around the house. It was old 1/2in bar stock and the Handel is hickory that I burnt with a torch. Still need to harden it, finish the Handel or start over and do a finer sand paper to finish the blade. Thanks for the feed back tho. I can provide some more profile pics later
