  1. and before testing brian style hammer , for the first fire in the new forge i made a good "barbecue" with friends.... thank you for your congratulation it's motivate !!! :D
  2. hi all !!! this week i decide to forging a hammer like " brian style" . but today i'm very happy to finish the handle (in "cornouiller male"), i make the hammer in 4140 steel, 1500 grams weihgt (3.3 lbs). i don't know if it's exactly the same of brian... .but i have more pleasure to making them forging,polishing head , finish wood..!!!! i have test them , it s a realy good balanced hammer !!!! easy to handle the metal move easily , quickly !!! BRIAN thank you for all informations about this hammer!!!! (if you want you are "welcome" at my home in france ), i hope to meet you a day in europe or usa and forging with you !!!
  3. i have seal the wood handle in the eye with sikaflex 11 FC , it 's a mastic polymere glue !!! (look on the "angele" web site "glue for hammer") ;)

  5. i forge them with a "glazer" GSH 51 power hammer (flat dies ) and a big elongated cone to forming the eye!!!

  7. hi all!!! i have made a new sledge hammer(compact form to use the edge of the table for moving metal) in a square tool steel ( 0.48% carbone) section 70 mm (2.75 inch) , 3600 grams (or 7.70 lbs). "frêne hickory " wood handle. i think it s a good hammer for striking all the time and a longer time than a big one, it s better for my "back problems" special congratulation to URI HOFI, AMIT HAR-LEV and BRIAN BRAZEAL , i like your works !!!thank for your " good learning spirit"!!!!
  8. in first sorry for my english!!!(i m french!!) i m just a "froggy " who like blacksmiting and coppersmithing ..... i start working metal 11 years ago and i like that!!!! i think if you read this it ' s same for you (ahhhh !! the smeal of forge fire.....) i m very happy to look a forum about blacksmithing (and not bladesmithing all the time....!!!!) if you have a question or a comment i m very happy to speaking with you (with my "fren-glish" !!!!):rolleyes:

    the anvil weight is 185kg , she was forged in 1889 but all the edge are welded whit castolin 380 s (grinded and polish)
