  1. Hey Y'all, I recently purchased a Mouse Hole anvil that is from 1780-1795 era. I have looked around and couldn't find out value ranges for it and wondered if anyone knew what one is worth? It is in pretty good shape. The face has a very slight dip in it but that's about it. It has great rebound. Thanks for reading!
  2. Hello Everyone, I'm fairly new to blacksmithing and thought I would join this forum to try to learn as much as possible. I was born and raised on a farm in Missouri. I have always been fond of working with metal. I learned how to weld at a very young age and now think smithing would be awesome to get into. I am interested in mainly creating knives for myself and maybe to sell. I have made a few already, and feel they aren't too bad. Right now I have a question and I figured I would throw it in my intro. I currently have a Mouse Hole anvil that I purchased off a guy. He couldn't find any markings on it so I took a chance on it. I got it home and took a wire brush and flour to it. I was able to make out the lettering and it is a Mouse Hole anvil. Im pretty sure it is from 1780-1795 era. I was wanting to know what the value of this year of Mouse Hole can be. It is in pretty good shape except it has a slight bit of sway back on the working table in the middle of the anvil. If I keep it, I want to use it, therefore I would restore the table, but if it's worth anything I might not mess with it. It would be a pain, but I could also try to just get use to the dip in the table and work around it... Well, that about sums things up for now. Thanks for reading!
