the 50-52C rockwell (assuming C) doesnt seem as much as what older anvils were though, are they still the same rebound?

out of curiosity, why would you not want a hard horn?

i have an attwood stourbridge roughly 60kg, rebound is 90-95%, surpassing that of my peddinghaus

i dont know, the "standard" sizes of such buckets here are 12 liter or 20 liter.. in the case of 20 liters, that would be a bit over 130kg. i think its easier to compare to the pallet though

pretty sure thats a 4x4, or what they call 100x100mm here, also i believe the pallet is probably a europallet of 120x80cm, though thats pure guesswork, though they are most common here in Denmark

edit: well i guess it could be a 3x3 on second thought

on the first image it looks pretty reaonsably like "kg", and the guy told me it most definitely requires two people to move (i havent picked it up yet)

bought this anvil, which the guy tells me is a soderfors, he said he could just make it out from the side, but on the photos i cannot see it, so i trust his reading irl.

i havent picked it up yet, but from the looks of it, it seems like it may well be.

he told me it also said "1818", however, i do believe it is 1918, which it looks like on the picture.

131 or 133kg or thereabouts, so quite a beast

maybe also recommend to dispose of it at a municipal waste station?

Dont know about other countries, but in Denmark theres recycling centers in every municipality, and you can get rid of dangerous goods etc which is then sent to decontamination and such

I am looking into purchasing an anvil, and i have found both a peddinghaus and attwood stourbridge. The peddinghaus is listed as 75kg, but I am now in doubt as to whether it is a real peddinghaus.

I read on this forum people claiming some peddinghaus are made in belgium, i believe this is not the case? but i also read that the non-ridgid peddinghaus now get some produced by a turkish company, which may or may not be a good anvil.

I have included some pictures of the peddinghaus anvil im looking at (taken by seller, i have not physically seen yet).

and now im in doubt, i cannot find much information about peddinghaus shapes, i have however read on the forum that many older ones have been discontinued due to the dies being worn out. I have found some old ones stamped with "original PFP" that looks a bit like it, however the horn on this one appears to be longer than those.

The foot also seem to have only the "4 legs" whereas most peddinghaus i find seem to have a big extra "block" in between two legs on one side, with exception of some of the older

Also i read that on anvils greater than 50kg they were drop forged of 2 pieces and welded (previously with forgewelding, now electrically) together, and this does appear to have a weld line.

I am however a bit on doubt, especially since i saw this:
