I totally agree, but the only mystery marks i found were those pesky rust pits. More research wont hurt me ill keep on sleuthin

Without a doubt its more than perfect for what i need, i used to work with a piece of 60 lb track welded to an old metal stool, she bounced around like a mother but she did the trick

The other side is plain, I had suspicions of it being a mousehole but started doubting my first thoughts due to the lack of any markings

Its 110 lbs the rebound is okay not perfect though, its got a little swayback but other than that its a nice solid anvil, the hole on the bottom is square by the way and no pritchel hole

So i found this anvil for 100 bucks but it has no markings at all could you give me a hand?! I already wire brushed it but with no luck couldnt find a single marking there seems to be a colon looking thing with an 18 but may be from tools
