  1. 55, ex airborne, 2 hip replacements, knackered back, knees shot. As my old Regimental Sergeant Major used to say "If you're looking for sympathy, it's in the dictionary, somewhere between s#!t and syphilis"
  2. I just finished this for my new Peddinghaus Nr 12. The design was inspired by Kubiak's on the Anvil height thread. Each section of 2x4 is individually glued and screwed so it is very solid. I made mine to the best height for me but it could be built with about 1" total adjustment up or down with packing pieces within then upper and lower surrounds. Time to get smithin'! Cadair
  3. Thank you gentlemen. I can now, authoritatively, point out the Rigid Toolshop's error.
  4. Hi Joe

Your post about Peddinghaus anvils was very informative. I just ordered a number 12 from the Ridgid toolshop in the UK and was told that these are now made in the USA?! Is this true? I haven't seen any reference to this anywhere else. Just a bit concerned about any changes if it is. Or is he just talking nonsense?

Really enjoy your You Tube vids.

    Thanks in anticipation.

  5. I was curious. I did quite a bit of research and forum trawling before ordering and saw no mention of this. A change of manufacturer is likely to change the product. I'm not suggesting a US manufacture would be inferior, just different. I've seen some criticism of the recent German product.
  6. Having just ordered a new Peddinghaus number 12 anvil from the Ridgid toolshop in the UK, I enquired about delivery times. I was told, by them, that these are now made in the USA and would have to be shipped over?! Is this true? If so, has anybody noticed any difference in quality? Or is he just talking nonsense. Thanks in anticipation.
