I too have a drake drum off of a semi truck, but I'm not quite sure how to rig up this huge thing. I doubt it's worth the trouble to make a forge out of it.

I make a lot of simple things like fire pokers, trap stakes, and crude tongs. It seems to be good practice and is surprisingly fun. Especially if I get my materials for free.

Very nice find, Since I'm a beginner I'm working on a piece of 70lb railroad track. Not much for anvils in my area.

Any and every.. from needle files to double cut bastard and half rounds. You'll only ever need the one you don't have.

I agree with this guy! Personally I like Swiss made Grobets over the new Mexican made Nicholsons they seem hold their edge better at the same cost. But older American made Nicholsons are supposed to be top-notch.

I recently discovered that Federal regulations require that brake pedal levers be made of hardened steel. So does anybody out there forge these, or have any thoughts on their potential uses?

Are these people still in business? I have not been able to contact them (by phone and email) for the past couple of weeks to discuss shipping rates. Their website looks pretty good, and I have heard positive review about their products. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
