  1. A bit new and isn't much of a good judge on these things, but I was wondering if a 1/2" steel rod was enough to flatten a 2" × 3/16" bar (w × h)? Any estimates or ways I could find out these types of things in the future would be a lot of help, Thanks!
  2. This is my first blade made from a w1 drill rod (or any type of rod at all). I am expecting the thickness to be around 1/4".
  3. Hey guys, I'm looking to forge myself a wakizashi from a w1 drill rod. The problem is I don't know what size diameter rod I should get to make one. Just so you know I am an amateur, but experienced blacksmith so I have no problem using up to 1.25" diameter rods. Thanks!
  4. Hey guys I'm new to the forums, but I was wondering if I could thicken 1/4" x 1" flat stock by forging vertically and keeping it true. Would it thicken up to 1/2"x 1/2" flat stock? Thanks guys, happy forging!
