yes the eye is tapered slightly smaller at the bottom of the eye. not sure what an hourglass eye is yes the fold and weld metod is used and id think either drift or mandrel will work as long as it gets the eye shape right as i fold and weld it rthibeau chould you make one if i gave demensions and drawings of eye shape.

thanks all rthibeau not exactly a tomahawk drift . the shape im looking for is not tear drop it is more of an oblong and flatened oval. unless this whould still be a tomahawk drift.

hello im new hear and i am looking for an axe drift for fold over axes of the 17thcentury french biscayne axes the eye shape is like this. does anyone sell thease or am i gonna have to bang one out thanks Garrett
