I was fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of a tool rental program offered by my local blacksmith group(MABA). I don't know if these still exist. to me it was a great way to get started.

I recieved a post card advertisement for blacksmith journal yesterday featuring Jackpine forging hammers. for a fraction of the price of the BB hammer. anyone know about these hammers?..Quality? Balance?Service?[

We have removed much of this posters BB spam, and banned the account. It is sad when someone has to resort to this kind of poly to get attention

I saw the iron kiss hammer in its art-deco styling at quad state a couple years ago crushing aluminum cans. Its a pretty expensive can crusher.

the shop I work in has a table designated to laying out long runs of rail.. we call it the railing table and it is made of steel. we usually use silver pencil , keep it sharp or your demensions will change.

Are the cast Hoffi hammers the same price as the forged ones?

the KA and the Big Blu are both very nice machines. If you are looking at doing a lot of forging I would recommend the Big Blu. They offer a variety of dies for doing all kinds of work and are very easy to change. They also offer classes on how use the Big Blu to its fullest potential. Check out their web site.

congrats...It seems to be doing what you want it to be doing..Sometimes the beauty of creation is in the process...Not how fast it can be done(#of heats BS)...

Do you have a Hossfeld? Or a couple bending forks? I think Harbor freight sells a small benchtop bender similar to the hossfeld for 1/10th the price.

It wasn't Bill Bastas Thomas, Though I worked with guys that were tought by him and judjing by there skill I would say he was a very good teacher.

you could save yourself alot of headache and trouble and buy a big blu hammer compressor combo for a reasonable price.
According to one or our sources, you work for BB, you have been warned about IFIs advertising policy, and since BB refuses to pay for this advertising you keep cramming down peoples throats, you are now gone.
