I like  Day Zero's approach, and do have my own personal goals, one of which is doing some more forging this year.

Two flatters and a punch in this tool poor area. Only the third time I've seen any tools since I've started looking and the first time it wasn't priced as an antique. Needs new handles but that is easy.

Loaded a 850kg milling machine on my little truck with 650kg capacity, And the loading tackle as well. And two big men in front. It was a slow trip.

And once loaded 4.5 tons of stuff on a truck with 3 ton capacity. 3 people in front, me without the right permit and an hours drive home. I was very glad we didn't see a policeman.

I made this earlier this year. And sold it.

Mine was a bandsaw. Sunday afternoon, and I was upset. I have no permanent injuries, just a scar. And I can now use a mouse with either hand.

I've got a small anvil that is in a (just) better condition than that one. It is very convenient to do experimental stuff on that I do not want to try on my good anvil.

And a nice 150mm (6") vice from my local scrap yard. The first one I've ever seen there. A nice thick piece of steel for a table, and making a new spring not a problem. The screw still good.

Nice paint job, and a lot of work in getting it to look like that.

My idea of a dream job. I can apply for both posts.

I just wish I had a faster internet connection.

Sheet metal hammer, looks almost like a Yoder or a clone. Very small stroke, made for sheetmetal. Closest similar design is a Japanese knifemakers hammer.

I should say lack of skill.

I also had a lot of trouble with forging the blades and I forged 15 blades in a month (didn't finish them, yet) and my forging improved immensely.

Take a piece of steel and keep going at it until it is right. In the beginning it will take very long, but you will learn from your mistakes.

That stove is beautiful.

I like the size of that one. For some strange reason my dream machine. I would love to have one some day.

The project for the two days was making a sign for the Blacksmiths shop at the Sylviavale Heritage Museum.

We have a ball-peen hammer in the workshop with a steel pipe handle welded to the head.

It was already like that when it entered the workshop in 1980, is being used regularly and is still going strong. The pipe handle is also useful as a bending tool.

I don't like commenting on art, but I've always liked this cartoon.

Finally a tool that makes it possible for two people to do one persons job. :)

Bring beer.

And don't give advice unless it is asked for.

Ask the couriers. When I looked around a while ago they had all the information on what was needed for international shipping on their websites, including downloads of all the forms needed. Some even handled cash on delivery, but I think Paypal is the easiest.
