    I'm in Mason,Texas..which is about 100 miles from everywhere. Smack-dab in the heart of Texas. If there's anyone near here (I get about 60 miles from home,generally)..I'd like to know.

    Howdy, all...new (very) to this. Something I've always wanted to do. I grew up in an industrial sheet-metal shop in Houston, so I've worked w/ metal before;but I was just the bosse's son/broom-pusher, so I'm in no way expert. Just got a place cleared for an expansion of my shop.Building the forge(hopefully) this weekend. Looking at an open, masonry type,using sandstone and mortar. I just got here, so I'm off to see the blueprints.
