  1. Just an update on my progress. I had to re-do the HT because the blade took a kink. I normalized a couple of times and the second try came out straight. Ground at 36 grit and ready to go Stable at 1550 F Ready to grind I ground to nearly sharp and finished up with a Gator belt. The rest of the day I spent hand sanding to a clean 220 surface. It goes a lot fast from here on out, 10 or 15 minutes a side per grit to 1500. Thanks for looking, Geoff
  2. There are going to be 4-5 more. I claimed the end of the billet for a project of my own, but there should still be at least 3 and as many as 5 out of the rest of the billet.
  3. Hi there. My name is Geoff and I'm a bladesmith. Some of you may know me, this is a pretty small community. Mostly I hang out at www.bladesmithforum.com. I'm an ABS JS living in Washington state, on the wet side. Right now I'm working on a memorial project for one of our members who goes by Samcro over there. You can read all about the project here http://www.bladesmithsforum.com/index.php?showtopic=27123&hl=%22boomer%22. He has asked me to post my progress here as well, since there seems to be some interest. Over the next the day or so I'll get that put together and post it here. Thanks for having me, Geoff
