Call master tool maker Jay Sharp in Las Vegas regarding rasp spur video. If you can't find his number call his friend J.R.
702.289.5348. Jay made the DVD in the past year or so. He is in his nineties. He did one on tongs too. -
Any pics you can share of your ka 75 dies with holes and set screws? Thanks!

Great videos, John. Thanks for taking the time to share.

I have the tong tool that is in the KA75 tong video. Bought it when I picked up the hammer last spring
John:
Thanks for the reply. I made one similar out of some 4140 stock. I just normalized it, but so far It is holding up pretty well under my ka75.
Happy forging.

Beautiful work, John. What type of tooling are you using on the KA75 to isolate and forge the boss?

Hey, John. Lyle and I finished that fullering hammer we started at your place. Here's a picture of it: It weighs 4 pounds:
I look forward to coming back to your shop!
John has a very nice shop.
By the way, those hardy tools are for John's 500 pound Peter Wright anvil with an inch and a half hardy hole.
Brian:
Attached is a picture of the original bar of 4140 and the rough-forged 4lb hammer before it left my shop. Your hammer is next to it for comparison. Over the weekend we forged another hammer head from 1045 and a top fuller from 4140. Finally, I am attaching an image of some hardies we have recently forged. John -

Howdy:
We are having another Hammer-In Saturday July 17, 2010 in New Marshfield,Ohio which is just outside of Athens. For directions and a brochure, please visit www.lavellefarms.com
A friend of mine is coming from Las Vegas, NV. He knows Jay Sharp and is bringing Jay along to attend. I understand he is 90 years old now, but still goes to the shop daily. His hammers and tongs are treasured items. Hopefully Jay will take a turn at the forge and exhibit some of his work. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Best regards,
