  1. redgie, post where you are from and post some pix of the mail box that you made. Sounds pretty neat.

  2. hi there all, i have finally stopped making tongs and tools and made myself a mail box. the pole is pipe and the replica milk can i made at work. ( i build aviation tanks so got access to sheet rollers). the can is made to resemble an old malleys milk can that are everywhere in aust but not where i can find em. anyway i made the spout a bit bigger to fit all the parcels i get ( tongs and stuff off ebay usually) i think it came up ok. my girl loves it. she did the signing on the sides
  3. hi there, i am now the proud owner of the vulkanus hammer. it says model 858 on the side. total weight of about 800 kegs and have weighed the hammer "head" in at 24 kilos. will be kept busy for some timere metalling the babbitt bearings. was tempted to machine and fit roller bearins but decided to keep it as original as possible. will keep you posted. jeffro
  4. i have been looking for a small to medium mechanical hammer recently. very few around in australia. have got onto a bahco "vulkanus" 802 hammer. made around 1904. has anyone got any info. all i know is it is swedish. what rpm and what hp motor to spin her with? ta.
