At Walmart, in the garden section, at the end of a rack is a small display of a product called GELGRIP. Made by TommyCo. It is a non adhesive gel centered "tape" that when you wrap it around a handle you can wrap close to make the handle thicker and very cushioned or spread the wraps out and get a good comfortable grip. I have a wide palm area and a few injuries and arthritis and standard handles twist around in my grip. I can't get a tight enough grip. So I wrap my "small" handles and have made a few from the perfectly good shovel handle my nephew broke off . First time that city boy has held a shovel in 5 years. :rolleyes:

WELL... that explains a bunch. I just bought my first post vise on Friday (8/29) and it was covered in grease. After cleaning it, it looks like it may have experienced catistrofic failure at some time a long time ago. possible break/ reforgeweld on one main leg andmajor welding up under and around the screwbox area. BUT it has this long square threaded screw and a "box" of cast iron that sits on the back side. The top mount goes through the back leg and it was BADLY reforgewelded long ago.   And yes I paid toooo much for it.  The house jack screw setup is probably what it is. Oh well... I can make it work. And BETTER!

C.I.TR3, You got a NICE one ! VaughnT that concoction sounds interesting since I live on the edge of the swamp my stuff will rust jiffy quick. I don't like coating it with gobs of oil. Maybe you can start a thread on what to coat your tools with besides beeswax. Thanks
