  2. Trattoclip... how is your Anyang running? I found an old one that was really abused and am totally rebuilding it from the ground up. Fun project. I think these little machines are bullet proof. Hope that you have a wonderful Holiday Season.

  3. Sam, using a very soft flame from a plumbers torch for a short time probably won't hurt you're anvil. However I don't think it's that important to preheat the anvil before you start forging. I personally would let the anvil slowly heat up naturally by forging on it. Sometimes when I'm forging (in a gas forge) I will take a warm piece of fire brick from the forge and place it on the anvil before I begin forging.
