  1. Got a hammer at a pawn shop . It's one of the squaty ones like on here looks like a squished mini sledge like a roundin hammer I guess. Say+800-36+ on the side . Or +869-36+

  2. these are very cool, but I hate seeing old working tools getting used for art. I mean if its too rusted or shot to use I understand. but alot of guys take wrenches that survived world wars and depression only to be made useless for fun. I did notice your wrench ends for the claws looked like china stock. More to ya for that haha

  3. Hah I started a thread about a vise and it ends up being an English lesson . Well sorry I called it a stump vice. A real stump vice by the way is this goofy looking thing you hammer into a stump to clamp your chainsaw bar into for service and sharpening . Think I saw a picture of a " leg " vice " on a stump and that's how I remembered it

  4. Thanks for the input guys and ill look mr. Turley . Was wondering what markings to look for thanks! Yeah I realized the spring was ton after looking at some posted pics . Will see what is around the shop Monday to make one

  5. Threads in and out smooth but it's got a few pits and the jaw is tweaked a little. Not markings I see and what is the double bevel below the thread for? Above the hinge

  6. Wow thanks for all the ideas guys wood would have been my last thought. Got a few ideas layn around . My buddy has a ton of thick scrap but I don't want to be that kind of friend . To be honest I have a radio flyer in the scrap pile that would be perfect and fits the angle iron table I have but sadly it'll be a 2 stroke go kart one of these days. Bought some 20 mule borax today too!

  7. Some washer and dryers are galvanized in side nuts right! Had a wirpool lid that was porclien coated but I cut it up would have worked great but it's part of a welding cart now. Guess ill just use the mower deck push mower has developed a knock . Riding mower is even worse haha so I have so options there

  8. On my break drum forge does it need a tray around it? What's the point? Just to hold xtra coal? Thought of using a push mower deck or cutting my riding mower deck in half it's a 3 blader and give half to my buddy for his.

  9. Asked a buddy if he had anything I could use
As an anvil . He said hey do you want this anvil :) that's a good friend haha forge is in process sadly the dryer blower I got exploded when it fell out of the vise when test wiring it. The anvil is ruff but I have other random steel chunks too . The horn was broke off?! No torch marks . It's a wright 1 0 17 no idea what weight that is 130 ish ? Base is 4 5x5 posts 19" high worked on it tonight not finished.
