  1. I am just thinking of a little range to take to a selection of county shows, traditional shows and craft fairs this year.

I have already got fire pokers, candle holders, banana hooks, hand held garden hoes, garden dibber, garden line (for sowing straight rows), bottle openers, towel rings (screws to wall or cupboard to hold towel), solid wooden chopping boards with forged handle as well as a larger fireside log holder.

What other successes to people have? I'll pop some pics up when I get round to finishing the items.

    Cheers!

  2. Hi all,

I have just knocked up a little baby forge for my artistic work as the big gasser was costing a bomb to run so that will take early retirement.

I have ordered some 1/2" self tapping screws to fix the 1" firebricks in place. You can see in the photo above they have bowed slightly due to the heat. These will pull back when I re-heat and then screw them into place. The burner is simply pushed into the tubular collar and held in with a grub screw.

I can add a door to the front and back later if needs be but as it is quite small it heats anything up pretty dam quickly. Inside measurements of chamber are 7.5 inches wide, 4.5 inches high and 13.5 inches deep.

    Firebricks were £25 delivered.

7.5m Angle was £14 from stock.

With a few welds and a pack of screws.

    Less than £50 all in :D :D :D

  3. Hey all, first post here. I am a member to various forums for other stuff I do so thought it'd be rude not to poke my nose in here too :D

Just really a few of the back corner of my workshop really which is dedicated to working with metal. Behind the photo is a nice large square concrete floor if any fab work has to be done or cars need working on.

    The area...

The anvil is a temp one until I can arrange collection of a big mofo I have bought. The one in the photo has the rear end broken off! It was free so I'll keep it for roughing out or cutting on. Shame though as the bit with the hardy hole is missing :(

I have a week off work soon and will be able to spend some time getting the place sorted and tidied up.

I'll pop some more pics up when I get a chance.
