Anyone want to start a blacksmith group or just get together near Minot N.D ?

Does anyone know where I can find instructions for making minature horseshoes ? I saw this done in Navoo IL, but I can't remember how the smith did it. It was several years ago. Thanks.

Are there any N.D. smiths who have a source for forge coal ? Right now I order from Centaur Forge, but the UPS shipping makes it pretty spendy.

Hi Gang, Does anyone know of a source for post drill bits besides ebay ? I have 3 really good post drills, one dated 1807 and I don't want to put "modern" chucks in them. Thanks.

That would be great Keykeeper. I'm not sure you would have to go to the trouble of taking it off or measuring it, but If I could just get a good picture of one especially one on the drill so I can see how it mounts and fits to the cam,etc.I'm sure I could make one pretty easily. This post drill is like brand new otherwise. Anything you could send will help a bunch. Thanks. Levi

Does anyone know where I might be able to get an advance arm for a Champion post drill or has anyone ever made one? It's the arm that lowers the drill bit as you turn the chuck wheel.

I just received in the mail "The Backyard Blacksmith" by Lorelei Sims. I highly recommend this book to ANYONE interested in blacksmithing. Incidently, I ordered mine on line from Alibris----a really good source for books, in or out of print and at good prices. Levi
