  1. thank you all for the very helpful advice and pointers, i will take your wisdom and run with it :D. thank you again.
  2. yeah, the noise level is something i was considering also, im probably looking at farm-ish areas or homes that are on the cheap side. also do i need any sort of qualifications to join blacksmithing groups? i mean its like i went to school and became an apprentice and now looking to work on my own, i have no prior work with metal other then my job as a sheet metal worker.
  3. hello, my name is Dylan, i live in Canada Ontario inside a town called Brampton there isn't really much room here for a forge (i live in a subdivision) so i was wondering what sort of land/residence i should be looking for to have enough room to do such a job. i work as a sheet metal apprentice right now, first year, and im finding it very interesting, I've always had such a fantasy about metals, ore, rock, fire and the such and now seeing as im older (21) i figured i should start to look into how to set up my "hobby shop". i'm planing on buying a residence soon 2-3 years as long as nothing goes badly with bills and the sort. im more into the weapon/trinkets of the blacksmithing world but that wont stop me from doing something just because its not a weapon. so here is my real question: what sort of land should i be looking for? how would i start up such an extravagant hobby shop where i can do what i need with it? also what kind of start up money am i going to need, not that the money really plays a part in my hobbies seeing as thats where all my money goes anyways :D.
