    I don't know why I was second guessing myself then. It seems all over this forum everyone is constantly screaming to anchor their anvil. Perhaps I have read too much into things. I have always had mine secured firmly to a rather large mesquite stump and it has worked fine. And the few times I needed to move it I could. So thanks for making me not worry about my new space. I was already frustrated enough that I wouldn't be able to sink my leg vise like I wanted to.

    I am about to move into a space that is less than ideal, but it is what I can use. I also know full well that I need to anchor my anvil to the floor, so please don't tell me that over and over. Now if you can't anchor to the floor, what would be recommended for a stand?
