  1. When I do public demos, I almost always get that question. so this thread fired my brain up a bit. On my next demo I'll take one of those cheap swords with me and forge it into something useful. So when posed the question again, I can say "Yes, I do make swords.................... into something useful." I could make a variety of useful items. What would you make?

  2. After wearing out 3 Milwaukees in 14 years I would have to say they are by far the best saws. I use 10-14 varipitch bi-metal blades. They are just pure evil on solid bars of steel. Definitely buy two. One for hand use away from the shop and one beater to convert to a vertical with a foot switch for the welding table or I use two h beams for my layout table. Pawn shops are usually a good spot to score porta-bands.

  3. When considering the specs supplied by Little Giant, bear in mind the concrete technology was not quite what it is today. A more shallow isolated footing can be used. And I have cracked 4" thick concrete with a 50 and 100lb LG the first ten minutes or so of operation. It kind of spiderwebs the concrete. It's kind of fun watching the dust jump around till the hammer starts to do it's little dance. Building a new shop now out of an old church. So down where the baptismal font was located is now a great spot for power hammers.

  4. Well, it sounds as if they may be worth the drive and effort to get the hammers. I may hire a rigger and a lowboy trailer to drag these back to TN. Then I can take all the forges anvils, tongs and other small stuff on my truck. If anyone is interested in the Bradleys, just let me know. I should have all sorts of tools available around mid February.
