Greetings to all. First of all, I wanted to introduce myself. I Javi Ruiz, Spain. I started working at age 16 with the blacksmith of my people. I liked the job, and I was learning, but the man died one and a half and I had to get to work as a welder and locksmith. Always keep the love for the craft, practiced it or not (I have since been mechanic, truck driver and electrician), so over the years I've done with tools and I have a little shop in the garage of my house pretty decent. I garden tables, chairs, shelves and generally minor. What is happening to me, then do not take it as the main profession but as a hobby. Although maybe I decide to make the leap forward ... I have imagination, good taste and I think I know some techniques of the trade, which, moreover, is almost completely lost in Spain, although there are people who will recuperand. We'll post some pictures of my work.
My English is quite poor: although I read it almost perfectly, do not speak or write to respect it too, so for my posts I use an automatic translator. But no problem for the answers, I read them well.
Well, so far, nothing else, just to thank the community in general the effort that the office is not lost and to share their work, experiences and knowledge.
Saludos para todos. Ante todo, queria presentarme. Soy Javi Ruiz, de España. Empece a trabajar con 16 años con el herrero de mi pueblo. Me gustaba el oficio, y ya iba aprendiendo, pero el hombre al año y medio se murió y tuve que ponerme a trabajar como soldador y cerrajero. Siempre conservé el amor por el oficio, aunque no lo practicara (he sido desde entonces mecánico, camionero y electricista), así que con los años me he hecho con herramientas y tengo un tallercito en el garaje de mi casa bastante decente. Hago mesas para jardín, sillas, estanterias y pequeños trabajos en general. Lo que se me va ocurriendo, pues no lo tomo como principal profesión, sino como hobby. Aunque tal vez me decida a dar el salto adelante... Tengo imaginación, creo que buen gusto y conozco algunas técnicas del oficio, que, por otra parte, está casi completamente perdido en España, aunque hay gente que lo va recuperando . Ya iré poniendo algunas fotos de mis trabajos.
Mi ingles es bastante pobre: aunque lo leo casi perfectamente, no lo hablo ni lo escribo por respetarlo demasiado, así que para mis posts usaré un traductor automático. Pero no hay problema para las respuestas, que las leo bien.
Bueno, pues de momento nada mas, solo agradecer a la comunidad en general el esfuerzo por que el oficio no se pierda y por compartir sus trabajos, experiencias y saber.
