Like how long per blade? I started with a piece of barstock 8:30 am or so, and had both of them forged, rough ground, normalized, and hardened by 4:00 pm. I'll have probably 10-12 hours in both by the time I'm done doing handles, guard, and final grind
If you asking how long I've been forging blade shapes like that, for about 6 months, but I've only really focused on anything other than forge finished knives made for myself in the last 3. I just really got into the grinding stuff. I've been working around a forge since I was a kid, though a lot of it was just making and fixing stuff for our homestead, nothing fancy
that explains everything. I've been here in iforgeiron for like half a year already. I'm hanging out around here to learn a lot of stuff. But I wasn't not around for awhile for some reasons. Post more projects here . Those blades are sharp.! :)

Why wouldn't it be done yet?
Because it looks like unfinished blade to me.

I have a newly owned Trajan 8 x 12 bandsaw . What made me amazed with this band saw is its using strong gear box and its coolant system.
-
I have two - an old Kearney and Trecker vertical, 3-phase, 10 speeds - and a very old Craftsman horizontal. Whoever made the Craftsman for Sears did a great job, it's still cutting straight after more than 40 years.
Whoa , That sounds great. What's the model of your Craftsman?

macbruce - Great website.
I usually purchase my blades on sawblade.com , pretty good deals and nice blades.
disclaimer.

I have a 7x12 Wilton, I've been happy with it. I bought the saw scratch and dent from a dealer in Nashville for a good price. They weld the saw blades for me when I need new ones but I've had great success silver soldering ones that have broken. I've considered buying a roll or spool(whatever they're called) and just doing it myself.
I usually purchase my saw blades online but I have never tried getting from local dealers. -
Cool one . When did you buy your 14" Wilton Tradesman?
-
Black bull.
Don't buy one, mine just broke. :(
Why did that thing happen to your band saw? -
Nice project!
